MOST delegation visits INOMAR

A delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) leaded by Minister Chu Ngoc Anh and accompanied by Prof. Huynh Thanh Dat, President of VNU-HCM, visited INOMAR on Friday, April 21, 2017. Our Director, Phan Bach Thang, presented the guests information about INOMAR’s research and its strategy plan for the period 2017-2022. The MOST's Minister said they were impressed with the work being accomplished at INOMAR, and excited to see more progress in the future. We thank the delegation for taking time to learn more about the important work being done here. 

 

Right after the visit Minister Chu Ngoc Anh and Prof. Huynh Thanh Dat signed the Collaborative Agreement between MOST and VNU-HCM.

Professor Paolo Carloni visits INOMAR

 

On behalf of INOMAR, Director Thang Bach PHAN and our researchers Ha Nguyen and Tan Doan presented the research interests and activities of the Center. We discussed with Prof. Paolo Carloni possible collaboration in the near future.  

 

Prof. Paolo Carloni has made a great contribution to the establishment and development of the Computational Biophysics Program in Vietnam for which he has been offered the title of Distinguished Professor of VNU-HCM.

 

 

Introduction to Modeling and Simulation by Dr. LE Minh Hung

Dr. Le Minh Hung from Ton Duc Thang University had come to visit INOMAR and became the Lecturer giving the fundamental knowledge of Simulation and Modelling based on Quantum Espresso or DFT method.

INOMAR researchers join this lecture for 8 consecutive weeks (1 day per week).

Prof. Hajime Hirao from City University of Hong Kong visists INOMAR

Prof. Hajime Hirao from Department of Bioligy and Chemistry, City University of Hong Kong came to visit, discussed research activities and collaboration. Dr. Tan. L. H. Doan had introduced him the lab facilities and took him a lab tour. INOMAR researchers, and Prof. Thang B. Phan, Director of INOMAR, had introduced about the history of INOMAR center and the research interests. Prof. Hajime Hirao appriciated the fruitful discussions of INOMAR researchers and introduced the general information about his research interests with the presentation termed "Computational Exploration of Chemistry: From Organic Molecules to Metal-Organic Frameworks".
