MANAR Open House Day
MANAR held an Open House Day for upperclassmen of VNU-HCMC University of Science. Around 30 chemistry students heard talks from Co-Executive Director Dung Hoang and Global Science Coordinator about MANAR, the type of research we design and develop, our accomplishments, and the Ph.D. program. Also, Ph.D. students Huong Nguyen and Nhung Nguyen gave presentations about recent research projects. Students then went on a tour of our facilities and laboratories. We would like to thank the future grads for coming to our Open House Day, and hope to see them again as MANAR students! See our Gallery page for more pictures of the event.

Representatives of ONRG Visit MANAR
Representatives from the Office of Naval Research Global, United States visited MANAR on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Previously this year, MANAR was awarded an ONRG grant worth 2.15 billion VND to develop new crystalline, porous materials for the purification and transformation of natural gas products. The ONRG representatives toured our labs and spoke about the mission and goals of the organization. Also during this meeting, students Tien Lo, Huong Nguyen, Binh Nguyen, Tan Doan, and Thach Tu presented on their current research projects, many of which are ONRG funded. As always, see our Group Pictures page for more images. We thank them for visiting our center and their continued support of MANAR and chemistry in Vietnam!
Dr. Tung Pham Gives Seminar to INOMAR Students
Dr. Tung Pham, Research Professor, at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology gave a seminar for MANAR scientists and students last Thursday. His presentation spanned his work on developing crack-free zeolite membranes and he covered the various methods of production and analysis. Dr. Pham's presentation was met with enthusiasm by MANAR scientists and was followed up with a lively discussion on his research results. We thank Dr. Pham for coming to MANAR and wish him nothing but success!
